Itinerary
Day 1: Llegada a Casablanca y traslado al hotel
Recepción en el aeropuerto Mohammed V de Casablanca y traslado cómodo al hotel. Presentación del recorrido y primer contacto con Marruecos.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fez
Salida hacia Fez atravesando bellos paisajes agrícolas. Visita a las ruinas romanas de Volubilis, Patrimonio de la Humanidad, y a la ciudad imperial de Meknes con su monumental puerta de Bab Mansour y graneros reales. Llegada a Fez.
Day 3: Visita guiada de la milenaria ciudad de Fez
Jornada completa con guía oficial descubriendo la medina viva más antigua del mundo: Palacio Real, mezquita y universidad Al-Qarawiyyin, curtidurías tradicionales de Chouara y mercados artesanales.
Day 4: Fez – Montañas del Rif – Excursión a Chefchaouen – Fez
Excursión de día completo al cautivador pueblo azul de Chefchaouen, situado en las estribaciones del Rif. Paseo por sus fotogénicas calles pintadas de azul y tiendas de artesanía antes de regresar a Fez.
Day 5: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Valle del Ziz – Merzouga
Cruce del Medio Atlas visitando Ifrane y el bosque de cedros de Azrou habitado por monos de Berbería. Continuación por los desfiladeros del Ziz y el palmeral de Erfoud hasta alcanzar las dunas de Merzouga.
Day 6: Dunas de Erg Chebbi y caravana en camello al desierto
Recorrido por los poblados del desierto y la música tradicional de Khamlia. Por la tarde, travesía en camello por las impresionantes dunas de Erg Chebbi para contemplar la puesta de sol y cenar en campamento bereber bajo las estrellas.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Gargantas del Todra – Dades – Ouarzazate
Amanecer sobre las dunas y salida hacia Rissani y las espectaculares gargantas verticales del Todra. Continuación por el Valle del Dades, la Ruta de las Mil Kasbahs y el Valle de las Rosas hasta Ouarzazate.
Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Taroudant
Visita a la majestuosa Kasbah de Ait Ben Haddou, joya de adobe y escenario cinematográfico mundial. Paso por Taliouine, capital del azafrán, hasta llegar a las murallas medievales de Taroudant.
Day 9: Taroudant – Agadir – Costa Atlántica – Essaouira
Paseo por el litoral de Agadir y ruta hacia Essaouira entre bosques de árboles de argán con sus curiosas cabras trepadoras. Llegada por la tarde a la pintoresca Essaouira.
Day 10: Exploración de Essaouira: La Novia del Atlántico
Día libre para saborear Essaouira: la fortaleza marítima de la Skala, los artesanos de madera de tuya, el puerto pesquero con degustación de pescado recién capturado y la brisa del Atlántico.
Day 11: Essaouira – Cooperativa de Argán – Marrakech
Visita a una cooperativa femenina donde se produce el codiciado aceite de argán. Llegada a Marrakech y vivencia del espectáculo nocturno de músicos, acróbatas y puestos de comida en la plaza Jemaa el-Fna.
Day 12: Visita monumental guiada de Marrakech
Recorrido exhaustivo por la Ciudad Roja: Jardines de la Menara, Mezquita Koutoubia, los idílicos Jardines Majorelle, Palacio de la Bahía y los multicolores zocos gremiales.
Day 13: Marrakech – Excursión a las Cascadas de Ouzoud – Marrakech
Excursión a las espectaculares cascadas de Ouzoud, con saltos de agua de más de 110 metros de altura rodeados de olivos y simpáticos macacos en libertad.
Day 14: Marrakech – Valle de Ourika y Alto Atlas – Marrakech
Excursión a los paisajes montañosos del Valle de Ourika, paseando por senderos tradicionales y compartiendo la auténtica hospitalidad bereber antes de regresar a Marrakech.
Day 15: Marrakech – Traslado al aeropuerto
Traslado al aeropuerto de Marrakech o Casablanca para tomar el vuelo de regreso, culminando el Gran Tour de 15 días por Marruecos.
Tour itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca Arrival & Hotel Transfer
Upon arrival at the airport of Casablanca Mohammed V, we will meet and take you to the hotel. Our representative will provide a brief overview of the tour.
Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
Departure for Fes will be made. The road to Fes takes us along a beautiful stretch of farmlands where olives, grain, vegetables and grapes are grown. Before arriving to Fes, you will visit Meknes and Volubilis. The latter is the site of the famous Roman ruins left from the Roman Empire's most southern outpost. Meknes is the site of the first Arab dynasty established by Moulay Ismail and has the Medersa Bou Inania and the Bab Mansour, the gateway to Moulay Ismail Palace. This leads us into the Sehrij Es-Souani, the horses stable and granaries. Upstairs is a rooftop garden and cafe with a great view of the city. Later, we arrive to Fes and check into the hotel.
Day 3: Full Day Guided Tour of Imperial Fes
After breakfast, you will begin your visit to Fes "the oldest living Medina in the world” with a local official tour guide. You will tour the Medina with its "souks" (markets), stopping at the gateway of the Royal Palace, the 9th century Karouine mosque and university. You will visit also the tomb of the city founder "Moulay Idriss II". Lunch will be at one of the traditional restaurants in the old Medina. After lunch, you will continue your tour to visit the Najarine Fountain, the old Harem Garden and the Batha Museum. On the way back to the hotel, you will stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
Day 4: Fes – Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen Day Trip – Fes
After breakfast in the riad or hotel around 8 am we will start a day trip to Chefchaouen (“the blue city”) which is a Moroccan popular tourist attraction and welcoming town situated in the Rif Mountains just south of the Mediterranean coastline in northwest Morocco. This nice blue city is known for its traditional buildings. You will enjoy a walk to explore the white and blue washed walls of the medina and the markets that offer some unique native handicrafts. Chefchaouen is a fantastic destination for photography with its wonderful views of the Rif Mountains. You will get back to Fez in the afternoon around 07:00 pm.
Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
After breakfast, we will start the trip to Merzouga; crossing the Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild Barbary monkeys. It will be a good opportunity to take photos of Moroccan wilderness. You will have lunch in a small Berber village named Zaida. Then, we resume the trip through the Atlas Mountains, enjoying the landscapes of Midelt before passing through Rich and Erfoud, where we enter the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet. Later, we arrive in Merzouga and spend the night at a hotel near the dunes.
Day 6: Merzouga Dunes & Sahara Camel Trek Camp
After breakfast at the hotel, you will start your explorative desert journey of the area, visiting the village of Khamlia and its people - originally slaves from Sudan - to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away, there is the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations, including flamingos. You may also like to visit the nomad wirehouse where many Berber handicrafts are priced lower than in the big cities. In the afternoon, you will ride camels, guided by an experienced camel-man, to explore the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. There, you will spend your first night under the stars, or in a traditional Berber nomad tent with dinner served under the desert sky.
Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we will drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaa M'gouna and Ouarzazate. The way through Dades Valley is the Route of One Thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. We will stop at Kalaa Mgouna, "the Roses City", to purchase rosewater, which will make your linen smell good a long time after your trip is over. We continue to Skoura and the Birds Valley and visit the Ameridil Kasbah, a well-preserved kasbah in this area. After lunch, you will have some time for hiking within the valley and then we head to Ouarzazate - “the Hollywood of Africa”. Overnight accommodation will be at a riad.
Day 8: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Taroudant
After breakfast at the riad, we will head to Taroudant via Taznakht, visiting Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. It was built during the beginning of the 20th century by Thami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains. This Kasbah used to be one of his stops during his long travel from the sub-Saharan countries to Marrakech, and is now a UNESCO world heritage site. Then, in Taliouine, the capital of saffron in Morocco, you will have the option to visit the Safran co-operative. Arrive in Taroudant by the afternoon to visit the ramparts and walk through the alleys of the Medina.
Day 9: Taroudant – Agadir – Coastal Road – Essaouira
Breakfast will be at the riad, and then we head for Essaouira, travelling via Agadir. Our first stop will be in Agadir, a resort city with a lovely beach promenade. The coastal road offers beautiful scenery; the area is known for its unique Argan trees. There, you will notice herds of goats climbing the Argan trees. After several stops along the coast we get to Essaouira in the afternoon, where you stay overnight at a riad in the Medina.
Day 10: Exploring Essaouira: City of the Wind
After breakfast at the hotel in Essaouira, we start our explorative journey of the city. You will visit the Skala Fortress, see Thuya wood carved by artisans, walk through the alleys of the medina and view hundreds of handicrafts. You will have lunch the Moroccan way, freshly bought fishes ‘cooked to order’. In the afternoon, you will have free time to wander around the beach. Essaouira, nicknamed "City of the Wind", is Morocco’s Jewel of the Atlantic.
Day 11: Essaouira – Argan Co-op – Marrakech
After breakfast at the riad, you will have some free time before leaving for Marrakech. On our way you will have the opportunity to visit a women's co-operative of Argan oil. After several stops for photographs, arrive in Marrakech and check into the riad. In the evening, enjoy the magical atmosphere of Jemaa El Fna with magicians, musicians, and snake charmers.
Day 12: Full Day Exploration of Marrakech
In this full-day tour of Marrakech, you will visit the Menara, Koutoubia Mosque, Majorelle Gardens, Bahia Palace and Dar Si Said Palace Museum of Jewellery. Enjoy lunch in the medina followed by a walk through the colorful souks of Marrakech, ending with sunset drinks overlooking Jamaa El Fna Square.
Day 13: Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls Day Trip – Marrakech
Enjoy an unforgettable day trip from Marrakech to Ouzoud Waterfalls, located about 170 km northeast of the city. Discover the breathtaking 110-meter-high waterfalls amidst a stunning lush landscape populated by wild birds and monkeys, with opportunities for scenic walks and hikes.
Day 14: Marrakech – Ourika Valley & High Atlas – Marrakech
A scenic private excursion into the Ourika Valley, nestled at the foot of the High Atlas. We focus on real Berber village life, exploring trails on foot away from crowds, enjoying fresh mountain streams and traditional hospitality before returning to Marrakech.
Day 15: Marrakech – Airport Departure
Transfer to the airport (Marrakech or Casablanca). End of the unforgettable 15-day Grand Morocco tour.
